Lex has just been sent to Smallville to manage LuthorCorp Plant No. 3, more or less against his will; Clark and Lex meet after Clark saves Lex's life; Clark learns he's an alien. Whitney, jealous of Clark's attention toward Lana, leads his friends in making Clark this year's "Scarecrow". What to watch for: The initial meeting of Clark and Lex, which occurs as Lex slams into Clark with his car and sends them both into the creek; the subsequent mouth-to-mouth resuscitation; Clark's visit to Lex's mansion. Quote from the episode: Lex: "We have a future, Clark." Superman references: The Nietzche "Man or Superman" comment when Lana hands Clark his book; Lex's question to Clark about whether a man can fly; the "S" painted on Clark's chest in the Scarecrow scene. CLexiness: 10 out of 10. Because, let's face it - there are only so many ways to interpret Lex's "We have a future" comment. Overall rating: 10 out of 10. Great ep.
